Soul retrieval restores power, energy and vitality. Working with my Teachers in the shaman's world of non-ordinary reality, I call your power back through a journey called soul retrieval. Sometimes this process goes beyond bringing back our lost children. It may be possible to bring through some of the radiant energy of the Higher Self - our larger spiritual identity - into fuller embodiment in this lifetime. With heartfelt intention we restore power- giving you the vital creative energy that allows wisdom, clarity and purpose back into your life.
After training with Sandra Ingerman and with the support of my Teachers I have been working with this method for over 12 years- with clients both near and far. The principles are outlined in Sandra's book Soul Retrieval- Mending the Fragmented Self.
Prior to a session I recommend you read Sandra's book or get the Soul Retrieval audio cassette tapes by Sounds True.

Does my soul return on it's own?
Soul loss is a reaction to trauma. Think of a time you were suddenly frightened and your response to that fright. Remember how it felt to return to normal. Soul energy does return on it's own. Soul Retrieval is recommended when there is a lasting effect due to a loss or trauma. Most people that I have met with just know in their heart that something is missing from their life.
Can I do my own soul retrieval?
Yes, you can and you can't. It all depends on the situation and the trauma. Read Sandy's book Soul Retrieval. Set you intent "I want all my energy back now." Start an active journaling process together with tracking your dreams. Follow the new moon energy for three moon cycles by reading the New Moon Journal. Moon is soul energy and I find that people naturally start to call back their power through the new moon process. You'll know pretty quickly if this is working for you, then call me or another shamanic practitioner trained by Sandra Ingerman if you need additional support.

One of the themes that has played out in my life is betrayal in relationship with myself and others. I experienced an abuse of trust and power loss at an early age creating the space for a wounded healer. Our worst pain offers us our greatest gift. While I have felt a myriad of feelings over the years . . . ultimately it came down to forgiveness. If you cannot forgive another person for their transgressions, then you are committing a form of soul stealing, which equals a loss of power for yourself and the sacred other. The concept of soul stealing is rampant in our society as we take power from another trying to use it for our own good. Relationships, divorce, physical and sexual abuse are forms of soul stealing. You may have ended a relationship and not felt "right". You may suspect that another person is holding your energy and you want closure- this indicates both soul loss and theft. If you cannot forgive and move on then you become the weakest link as your power is directed to another place, another time and another being, it serves neither party. So the question may also be asked-

What about children and soul retrieval?
When a child experiences a trauma in their life, it is sometimes hard for them to communicate to parents the essence of what is has happened. Trauma such as divorce, a move from a childhood home, loss of pet/friend, and even severe nightmares can sometimes trigger soul loss in a child.
At my own soul retrieval the shamanic practitioner (who never met me) came back from the journey, blowing the essences in through my heart and crown chakras. It was as if a bright light had been turned on behind my eyes, it was so bright when the energy returned. The practitioner told me she found my four year old self playing with a large brown/black dog who the child considered her best friend. She said a part of me had left because my little girl didn't want to leave the dog. This soul piece brought back my ability to play.

Remember she didn't know me. . .at the age of 4/5 my dad and I found our family dog Tippy, a brown/black retriever laying dead outside our house. She was my guardian, my protector and best friend with me since the day I was born. I had forgotten the time period after her death having blocked out the memory and emotions of the trauma. I sat there crying from the loss and the joy. With the soul energies returned I got to fully grieve the loss. The memories tied to that time in my life came back and were restored. After the soul retrieval my creative art took off in new directions in a wonderful way as I began to play again.
If I want a soul retrieval, what is my next step?
Call to make the appointment. If you want a soul retrieval I must talk with you by phone in person to discuss the matter. Then I journey to my teachers for their permission and a diagnosis. My teachers are in charge and know what is in order. Your role is to relax and become aware of what is happening in your outer and inner worlds. Sometimes the journey to my office is just as important as the actual soul retrieval itself. Once you make your intentions known the energies of the Universe come forward to support you. You might ask “What is my intention for this work?”
If you are not in South Florida you have several options:
go to http://www.shamanicteachers.com for Sandra Ingerman's shamanic practitioners list.
Travel to Fort Lauderdale and visit with me in person
We can work long distance.
To book a session you must call my office personally, we need voice to voice contact. This is about connection and relationship. I also know it is important to connect in life, in the moment with the practitioner doing the retrieval. Someone to witness you . . . see you, hug you and be present with you in your the session. This is not possible in long distance work. I will to try and find trained practitioners that are close to where you live. Or you may travel to sunny Florida and make a quest of this journey.

Soul Retrieval is what it is-restoring lost power. There is other shamanic work that complements the Soul Retrieval that may be necessary to integrate and become more present. So when possible try and work with a local practitioner. There are many in the circle that are willing to do the work. If you are reading this as a practitioner who has received the 5-day Soul Retrieval training with Sandra Ingerman through the Foundation for Shamanic Studies, contact me with your training information and I will be glad to place you on my referral list.
If long distance is what is needed for your own process know that time and space are irrelevant in non-ordinary reality. I can work with you by phone and use long distance healing if you are unable to travel to Ft. Lauderdale or, in the case of international requests possibly by e-mail.
I do work with persons from different countries, if you can communicate in English. Regretfully, I am not skilled in languages other than English. Please exercise tolerance related to our cultural differences. Prior to scheduling your long distance session I communicate with you by phone or e-mail to first, answer any questions you have about shamanic healing, and secondly, to obtain the following information:
Your age.
A two or three sentence description of your problem/concern.
Whether or not you are on medications. If yes, what kind?
Are you or have you been in psychotherapy?
Who is/are your support person(s) or group?
Major traumas you remember: accidents, surgeries, deaths, divorce, etc. and your age at the time of trauma.
How much does a soul retrieval cost? I charge $300 for three sessions. At the first and second session you are given a task to complete at home. The second session is the soul retrieval itself. Please note that if finances are an issue alternative fee arrangements can be made. I commit that no one who seeks a soul retrieval is turned away because of lack of funds. I might ask you to pay it forward, like the movie of the same name.
How many soul essences will I get back?
If my power animal and Teacher say you are ready then plan on one to three essences being returned at a soul retrieval session. How many essences, and if you are ready for the soul retrieval is something I leave to my Teachers in non-ordinary reality. Each session is different. Typically a power animal returns together with an essence to help support the person and the power/energy restored.
What about therapy?
As a shamanic practitioner working with you the client I am looking at what is spiritually out of balance through the guidance of my Teachers- compassionate helping allies. This is a collaborative effort and I highly recommend working with a good psychotherapist and body worker to support your personal growth and healing.
Soul retrieval is beneficial to both therapist and their clients for pulling back the fragmented parts so one has a stronger foundation to work from. Many times you are talking to someone who isn't present due to the trauma/abuse. After the soul retrieval your client will have a tape of the session so you can witness and support the necessary integration. You may want to attend the client session or schedule an appointment to discuss integrating this method into your own practice-

Know too your client's therapy session can change drastically after a soul retrieval. Sandra Ingerman in an interview relates that "one psychotherapist was a survivor of sexual abuse, but she had no memories. She had done hypnosis, regression and everything she could think about to uncover and resolve the memories. After her own soul retrieval, she said that all her memories came back, and they came back in a gentle loving way."

For all clients there is an integration that needs to take place with the information given. A soul retrieval can come at the beginning, middle or end of your therapeutic process, you'll know. If you are working with a therapist the information can be integrated into your work together (your therapist is welcome to participate in the session, if desired). A soul retrieval often speeds up a person's process and I encourage psychological support. This is a sacred circle. Only in our culture do we elect to do this work on our own. Open to the circle. Friends and family may want to gather at the soul retrieval. Remember it is a collaborative effort, your therapist, myself, your family and the compassionate Spirit Teachers hold a sacred intention for your healing.
What is my responsibility after my soul retrieval session?
On the day of your soul retrieval give yourself plenty of time after the session to be with yourself and the energies returned. It is wise to plan an easy day- go to the beach, go to the park or just rest. I ask that you not go to work or perform work related activities, stay off the computer - this is your day of coming home to your self.
If anything do something fun!
You are responsible for making the changes in your life that support this healing. Each day you are asked to listen to your tape from our session for a week or two so that the energies ground. There may be a ritual given to you that honors the gifts returned. Apathy happens when your illness, trauma and/or drama has more passion for life than you do. Please be aware of this. With vitality restored “how do you plan on supporting this new power?” This vitality needs a creative outlet, what can you do to use that new energy in an inspiring new way.
How do I create a positive present and future for myself?
What other tools can I use after the soul retrieval?
There are many journeys and celebrations that can support you after your soul retrieval. I advise clients to allow the energies to integrate for two weeks, making no major life changes for three months. For those facing a greater life challenge I suggest you commit working with a therapist or practitioner for at least two months to effect the changes necessary to ground and anchor the new energies. Some clients do require additional soul retrieval. . . that is possible only after three months and a diagnosis journey with my Teachers.
How do I prepare for my soul retrieval?
Once you make the decision, you are already in the energy of the soul retrieval, so I ask you to pay attention. At the initial session I'll discuss what is going to happen. Three (3) days prior to your soul retrieval appointment before going to sleep state out loud the following intention-
“Tonight I ask for a dream to receive and support my soul's return.”
In addition please abstain from alcohol or other addictive substances 24 hours before and after the soul retrieval. Then all you do is show up. Some clients feel disoriented after our session, so allow extra time to sit in my garden to ground before you drive home. You may chose to bring a designated driver. Trusted family members are encouraged to be part of the process, so let me know if they want to join our circle. You may elect to have the circle in your home, we'll drum, share space and celebrate you after the retrieval. Just know that the effects of the soul retrieval can be profound or subtle and. . .
